A Hudson Valley restaurant has made the list of 'Best Burritos in the Country' by Food Network.  Listed in the 'Restaurants' section of their website, where you can learn more about Food Network's Top Places to eat, a familiar local eatery was praised for their short-rib burrito.

In an article posted by Food Network on December 19th, the Wappingers Falls location of Mexicali Blue was noted as one of the best places to get burritos in the U.S. - while it was not a ranking by state, or really even a ranking at all, the article highlighted just over 30 spots to get your burrito fill.

According to Food Network,

The village of Wappingers Falls, New York (population 5,500), is home to Mexicali Blue — and its mouthwatering short-rib burrito. Not only is the meat house-butchered, but the ribs are cooked in Modelo Negra beer with fragrant herbs and spices for 7 to 8 hours. Accompanying the meat are rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, a special coleslaw and an exclusive hot sauce that lends the dish a unique flavor. Everything is made fresh and in-house, for a burrito that's truly is a bite to remember.

Having gone to college in New Paltz, and living in town post-grad for many years, the NP Mexicali Blue location was a staple, and now that I live in Wappingers, i'm conveniently just a few minutes down the road from that location.

Kudos, Mexicali Blue, for the Food Network recognition!
