Each week on ‘In Touch’, our locally produced public affairs program, I have the pleasure of talking with individuals and organizations from all over the Hudson Valley. We focus on non-profit organizations and volunteers who are working hard to help make all of our communities better places to live, work, and raise our families.

This week, I welcomed Andy Imperati, President, and CEO of the Dutchess County Agricultural Society, into the studios to talk about the upcoming 173rd Dutchess County Fair coming to the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck Tuesday, August 21 through Sunday, August 26.

It doesn’t take long into a conversation with Andy about the Fair and it’s history for you to realize how much he cares about it and how important it is in his life. We talked about the history of the fair, it’s original location and how agriculture has always been the center of the fair.

We talked about the historical buildings on the fairgrounds, the exhibits, the expanded Agriventure tent for children and their families to see where their food comes from as well as the entertainment. There’s always daily, free entertainment at the Fair in addition to the performances on the Grandstand. Plus, Andy talked about some new security measures in place for this year’s fair to help keep everyone safe.

Andy does a much better talking about the Fair than I do writing about it, so here’s this week’s show. Hope to see you at the fair!
