Winner, winner, candy dinner! That's how the saying goes right? No? Okay, fine. We made that up, but for good reason!

A Hudson Valley candy shop was just named one of the 10 Best in the US!

USA Today Names The Best Candy Stores in America

For weeks, fans of candy have been placing their votes for the 10Best Candy Stores in the US. We mentioned at the end of May that a Hudson Valley favorite was in the running and residents got to work.

Samuel's Sweet Shop made it to the 10Best Candy Stores Top 20 list. How does the ranking system work? According to USA Today, the nominees for these lists are "submitted by a panel of experts. 10Best editors narrow the field to select the final set of nominees for the Readers’ Choice Awards." Then, the public has a few weeks to vote on their favorites.

The Hudson Valley and Samuel's fans worked diligently and kept them in the Top 10!

Rhinebeck NY's Samuel's Sweet Shop Cracks the Top 10 List of "Best" in the US

For those who don't know the history of Samuel's Sweet Shop, it's been in business since Ira Gunter opened the doors back in 1994. Gunter successfully ran the candy store storefront until his untimely passing in 2014. After Gunter passed away, the community came together to ensure Samuel's Sweet Shop stayed put.

Paul Rudd, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Hilarie Burton Morgan, Andy Ostroy, and John Weaver worked together to keep Ira's memory alive and keep Samuel's Sweet Shop a staple in Rhinebeck.

They've done a great job! Samuel's Sweet Shop came in at #6 on USAToday's 10Best Candy Shops list.
