A Hudson Valley singer was put to the test this week on NBC's The Voice.

Hudson Valley Teen Advances on NBC's The Voice

If you've been following along then you know all about 13-year-old Warwick, New York native Julia Roome. A few weeks ago, we watched in amazement as the teen wowed the coaches on NBC's The Voice.

Pop singers Niall Horan (previously of One Direction) and Gwen Stefani immediately turned their chairs for Roome during her Blind Audition. Julia went with Team Niall and patiently waited for the Blind Auditions to wrap up to head into the Battle Rounds.

Julia Roome Heads to Battle Rounds Against Her "Bestie"

Julia was pitted against fellow Team Niall teen and bestie Olivia Eden. The two were tasked with singing "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer, which was released in 1999, years before either of the teens were born.

The music kicked in and the girls gave it their all going back and forth with phenomenal vocals making the final decision a tough one. After their performance, the besties stood together on stage as John Legend told Niall he would pick Julia. Gwen Stefani and Reba thought it was too tough to call.

At the end of the day, Niall had to pick one contestant...and he chose...

JULIA ROOME!

Niall continued his praise and amazement for the Warwick teen saying:

"Julia is by far the youngest in this competition now and not for a second would you think so. She has this dreaminess about her when she sings. She knows exactly who she is as an artist — even at this young age. There's a little spark in Julia that you don't see a lot."

You can watch Julia battle it out below and get more from the judges on The Voice website.

Now, we wait again. There will be a few more episodes of The Voice dedicated to The Battle Rounds and then we move on to the Knockouts. Fingers crossed we'll be seeing and hearing more from Julia Roome of Warick, NY in the future!
