Tracy Chapman Returns to the Grammy Awards

If you missed it, country artist Luke Combs re-recorded Tracy Chapman's 1988 hit song "Fast Car" and released it to country radio in 2023.

Combs has shared how important the song was to him, growing up his dad would play it in the car and as Luke got older he learned to play Fast Car on guitar and play it at all of his gigs.

Luke reached out to Tracy Chapman to get her blessing and the songs success in turn brought even more success to Tracy Chapman. At the 2023 Country Music Awards, Luke's cover won a CMA making Chapman the first Black woman to ever win a CMA Award.

The nominations kept rolling in for the country cover as Combs was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance.
