Tomorrow, LCD Soundsystem will release American Dream, their first album since 2010's This Is Happening. Perhaps as a gift to fans for waiting so long, they're giving away "pulse (v.1)," a 14-minute song that does not appear on the new record, for free.

You can download the song at WeTransfer. It's the latest taste of new music from the band. They've already previewed three tracks from American Dream, "tonite," "call the police" and "american dream."

After calling it quits in 2011 with a farewell show that was documented in Shut Up and Play the Hits, they reunited in 2015, first with the holiday song, "Christmas Will Break Your Heart," followed by a some high-profile festival shows the following year. Throughout it all, frontman James Murphy has insisted that there was still life in the band.

“We’re not just having some reunion tour," he said in January 2016. "We’re releasing a record (sometime this year — still working on it, actually), so this isn’t a victory lap or anything, which wouldn’t be of much interest to us.” As it became obvious that the record wouldn't be done in 2016, they canceled a tour of Asia and Australia.

Last month, Murphy disclosed that David Bowie helped guide him towards getting the band back together. “I spent a good amount of time with David Bowie, and I was talking about getting the band back together," Murphy said. "He said, ‘Does it make you uncomfortable?’ I said ‘Yeah,’ and he said ‘Good, it should. You should be uncomfortable.' The first thing that popped into my head was, ‘What do you know? You don’t know what it’s like to be uncomfortable' ... But that’s not who he was ever in his life. He was always making himself uncomfortable."
