WRRV’s Prom It Forward 2026 – Donate Prom Dresses for Hudson Valley Teens in Need!
Prom season should be a time to celebrate — but for many local teens, the cost of a prom dress can make the night feel out of reach. That’s why WRRV is teaming up with the Boys & Girls Club to host a Prom Dress Drive to help make prom possible for more students across the Hudson Valley.
From now through April 30, we’re collecting new and gently used prom dresses that will be distributed to teens through the Boys & Girls Club so they can feel confident, celebrated, and ready for their big night.
If you have a dress sitting in your closet that deserves another night out, this is the perfect chance to give it a second life while helping a local teen create a special memory.
Where to Donate
You can drop off dresses at any of the following Hudson Valley locations:
Graceland Tattoo: 2722 W Main St, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590
Newburgh Brewing Company: 88 South Colden St, Newburgh, NY 12550
And there’s a little bonus if you choose the last option. When you donate a dress at Newburgh Brewing Company, they’ll buy you a beer as a thank-you for supporting the cause! You can also drop off prom dresses at the WRRV studio on 2 Pendell Road in Poughkeepsie on weekdays from 9am-5pm.
What to Donate
We’re looking for new or gently used prom dresses in good condition — the kind you’d feel proud to see someone wear to their big night. Styles of all kinds are welcome, and every donation helps expand the selection available to local teens.
Why It Matters
Prom can be one of the most memorable nights of high school, but the cost of dresses, shoes, and accessories can add up quickly. By donating a dress, you’re helping ensure that every student has the chance to experience the excitement and confidence that comes with finding the perfect outfit.
Whether it’s a dress you wore once or one that never left the hanger, your donation could help make someone’s prom night unforgettable.
The WRRV Prom Dress Drive runs through April 30, so gather those dresses and drop them off at one of the participating locations. A small act of generosity can go a long way in helping Hudson Valley teens shine on prom night.
