Legoland Gets Green Light to Continue Building Park in Goshen

After two legal setbacks, it looks like Legoland in Goshen is finally going to happen on schedule.

According to the Times Herald-Record, a restraining order that kept Legoland from clearing trees at the Goshen site was overturned by a Brooklyn court. Opponents of the theme park sought to halt the project. The delay would have proven costly for Legoland, since they only have until March 31 to clear all of the trees in the area. Endangered species of bats roost in the spring, so it's against the law to clear-cut trees from April 1 to October 31.

In order for construction to begin on time, all of the trees need to be down this month. The cutting started in January but was delayed twice due to court orders obtained by residents who oppose the park. The tree cutting resumed on Wednesday, and park officials say that they are back on schedule.

Legoland New York is expected to open in the spring of 2020.
