Let’s Light The Tree In Newburgh This Saturday
The City of Newburgh has officially announced its Annual Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting, bringing holiday cheer to residents and visitors on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
This much-anticipated event will feature a festive parade and the lighting of Newburgh's Christmas tree.
- Parade Start: 3:00 PM at the Department of Public Works Headquarters, 88 Pierce’s Road.
- Tree Lighting: At approximately 6:00 PM on Lower Broadway in front of City Hall.
- Parade Route: Covering a significant portion of the city, the parade will travel from Pierce’s Road to South Street, Broadway, Dubois Street, and through the East End and waterfront areas.
The parade will include decorated floats and vehicles from the Fire, Police, DPW, Water, and Recreation Departments, carrying Santa Claus and friends as they journey through Newburgh.
The route has been carefully planned to cover as many streets as possible, ensuring most residents can catch the magic of the season.
For those not on the direct parade route, Delano Hitch Park and the Newburgh Armory Unity Center on South William Street have been designated as official viewing areas.
Residents can also listen for sirens and holiday music as the parade passes through their neighborhoods.

The evening will culminate with a DJ and a hot chocolate station on Lower Broadway to keep the holiday spirit alive as the community gathers for the tree lighting ceremony.
