A Pleasant Valley man was arrested after police say he drove the wrong way on the Taconic State Parkway while two times over the legal limit of intoxication.

New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to investigate the report of a wrong-way driver traveling on the Taconic State Parkway near State Route 44. Troopers checked the parkway from Pleasant Valley into the Town of LaGrange and located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description issued by 911.

Police allege the driver of vehicle, 25-year-old Louis Fusilli of Pleasant Valley, was intoxicated when they pulled him over. Fusilli supplied a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent--more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.

A further investigation by police revealed that Fusilli was the driver of a Nissan Sentra that was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the Taconic State Parkway.

Fusilli was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He was issued traffic tickets and ordered to appear in Town of LaGrange Justice Court on Feb. 2.
