Mastodon continue to keep things interesting not only for themselves, but their fanbase. After spending much of the late spring and early summer on tour with Primus, they'll pair up with another not-so-obvious choice in Dinosaur Jr. for a tour in September.

Mastodon and Dinosaur Jr. will start the run on Sept. 1 in Edmonton, Alberta, with the run concluding Sept. 19 in Hamilton, Ontario. While there are a number of Canadian stops on the run, the U.S. will be represented with shows as well.

“We are so stoked to be doing a proper Canadian and far North American cities tour with the legendary Dinosaur Jr. We've been talking about it for years and it's finally happening!! We hope to see you there," state the members of Mastodon.

Mastodon will continue support of their Emperor of Sand album, while Dinosaur Jr. last released Give a Glimpse of What You're Not in 2016.

Pre-sales for the run start tomorrow (May 1) at 10AM local time via the Mastodon and Dinosaur Jr. respective fan clubs. Blabbermouth and local markets also have pre-sale ticketing on May 2 and 3 respectively before the general on-sale starts on May 4 at 10AM local time.

Mastodon, meanwhile, recently released a new video for "Clandestiny" off their album. The clip comes just as the band are set to spend a lot of time touring with Primus over the next couple of months. The trek concludes in early July, with some time off aside from a trip to Japan for Summer Sonic and an Illinois State Fair appearance in August. See all of Mastodon's scheduled dates here.
