A Mexican citizen with a history of re-entry, who resides in the Hudson Valley, was jailed for illegally re-entering the country.

On Tuesday, 27-year-old Erik Rodolfo Lozano-Arratia of Kingston was sentenced to 110 days in jail for illegally re-entering the United States.

As part of his guilty plea, Lozano-Arratia admitted that he returned to the United States after his May 15, 2013 removal to Mexico.

According to the New York Department of Justice, Lozano-Arratia also confessed that he had been removed to Mexico four other times, January 4, 2012, October 21, 2011, August 18, 2011 and July 15, 2011.

On October 20, 2016, Lozano-Arratia was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Kingston.

Lozano-Arratia was remanded to the custody of the Department of Homeland Security.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Enforcement and Removal Operations in Newburgh and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Edward P. Grogan.
