Kingston Community Rallies to Save Cat Trapped Inside Wall

I can't imagine that the team at Albany Avenue Truck & Trailer were at all prepared for the situation they found themselves in the other day. In what was referenced as a 'terrifying sight' - a feral cat wound up wedged tight by his neck after trying to squeeze through a small opening in a wall.

Not wanting the cat to become even further trapped/stuck, the team at Albany Avenue Truck & Trailer got to work trying to free the cat.

With every movement, there was a very real risk of serious injury—including a broken neck. Realizing the danger, they knew they needed expert help fast.

Thankfully, they ended up getting in contact with Dr. Beth Alden from Kingston Animal Hospital and Officer Lalonde, Humane Law Enforcement Officer, who rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

The feral cat ended up needing to be sedated in order to remove him from the wall safety and without causing any further harm, which Dr. Alden was able to do. Once freed, the lucky kitty was transported directly to the Ulster County SPCA shelter where he received a thorough examination, treatment for minor neck wounds, and then his necessary vaccinations.

After a much-needed bath to scrub off all the filth from his misadventure, this brave little guy is now squeaky clean, resting comfortably

Thanks to the quick efforts of the staff at Albany Avenue Truck & Trailer, the life-saving teamwork of Dr. Alden and Officer Lalonde, the kitty will spend some more time recovering and then will be brought back to his home as a TNVR, Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return, a common practice for feral cats.
