A community organization in Newburgh, NY has put out the call for an artist or artists to make something truly impressive: a 1,500 square-foot mural on the side of one of the city's most prominent buildings.
The job isn't for the faint of heart, as the artwork, which would be a permanent installation on the building's façade, will have several requirements before it's approved... can you or someone you know be the person for the job?

New Mural to Be Created in Downtown Newburgh, NY
The "canvas" for the right artist is a large section of a four-story brick building at the intersection of Broadway and Liberty Street in downtown Newburgh, NY. A recent press release helped define the type of artwork that would be the best fit for the space:
The objective of this project is to create a compelling piece of public art that will act as a point of public interest, source of community pride, and symbol of hope that captures and celebrates the vitality and rich diversity of our community. The piece should also serve as a reflective, responsive, and relevant local landmark for community gathering and engagement.
Submissions from artists are due by October 20th, and Safe Harbors of the Hudson says that they will select potential candidates by November 5th, 2025 and make their final selection by January 14th, 2026. More information can be found HERE, and submissions should be sent to lsilverstone@safe-harbors.org.
