Mexicali Blue, Wappingers, Shutters Without Warning

Back in July, hungry Hudson Valley residents were surprised to find out that a fan-favorite spot would be closing for good, or depending on when they heard the news, had already closed their doors. Mexicali Blue, which used to have locations in both New Paltz and Wappingers, surprised customers with the news that they would be closing up shop. Without very much notice, Mexicali Blue shuttered on July 15th, but have since provided some hopeful updates.

Citing 'rent-related challenges' as the reasoning behind their closure, Mexicali Blue shared they were exploring a food truck option in the Milton, NY area, and expressed their gratitude to customers for their feedback and ongoing support.

Celebrating their grand opening on Thursday, October 15th, Panda House offers both eat-in and takeout, a full menu, along with a lunch buffet daily from 11am until 3pm. Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini, pictured above, joined the Panda House team for their ribbon cutting on Thursday, wishing the local business well as they open their doors. On October 16th during the severe thunderstorms that passed through the Hudson Valley, Panda House had a full dining area and a great number of takeout orders being picked up, fitting for a dreary rainy Friday night in the Hudson Valley.

Congratulations, Panda House.
