The Trailer For Netflix “Mr. McMahon” Just Dropped and It Looks Insane
Netflix has finally released the official trailer for the much-anticipated "Mr. McMahon" documentary series, and wrestling fans are in for a wild ride.
Directed by Chris Smith, known for "Tiger King", this six-part series is set to premiere on September 25th, 2024. Executive produced by Smith and Bill Simmons, the series promises to reveal the real Vince McMahon, a man both revered and reviled in the world of professional wrestling.
Now, here’s where it gets personal—Vince McMahon was my hero growing up. The larger-than-life mastermind behind WWE, McMahon turned pro wrestling into more than just entertainment—it was an entire universe that I could lose myself in. But following McMahon’s complicated and controversial path into adulthood has been tough. It’s hard to reconcile the hero I once admired with the man at the center of so many scandals.
The trailer opens with McMahon himself saying, “People have wondered who I really am. The portrayal of me is I’m a bad guy, but no one really knows me.” It’s a statement that sets the tone for the series, which will dive into McMahon’s transformation of WWE and the controversies that led to his downfall.
With over 200 hours of interviews, viewers will hear from wrestling legends like Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and John Cena. The series will also explore the scandals that forced McMahon to step down, including the sexual misconduct allegations that rocked the WWE world.
From steroid scandals to the tragic Benoit murder-suicide, ":Mr. McMahon" pulls no punches. The trailer ends with McMahon defiantly declaring, “My name is not Vince, my name is Mr. McMahon.” All episodes drop September 25th—get ready for a wild ride.
