New York State Police took to social media to ask the public for help finding a missing teen who they say may be armed and "in distress".

Last year, there were more than 50 children reported missing that still haven't been found in New York. Luckily, the state recently began some aggressive tactics that have reunited many other missing minors with their families.

Missing Children Found in New York State

In western New York, 47 children were reunited with their families through a new collaborative program between numerous agencies. The state says that a more than 10,000 kids are reported missing every year, with nearly 95% of the cases involving children who had run away from home.

Teen "In Distress" Reported Missing in Clay, NY

Recently, 16-year-old Brenden M. Warner of Clay, NY was reported missing to state police. Their bulletin (below) describes Warner as 5’7” tall and 130 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. Police also warned that the missing teen may be armed.

It is currently believed that Warner may be in the Syracuse, NY area, but members of the public are advised not to approach him. Instead, anyone who believes they have seen the teen are asked to to immediately call 911.
