Pine Bush Teacher Recognized as Next Homeroom Hero!

Another exceptional Hudson Valley educator is stepping into the Homeroom Heroes spotlight! Thanks to our partnership with Mid-Hudson Pump Co. LLC, WRRV continues to recognize teachers who make a lasting impact on their students and school communities. We're so excited to honor Kenneth Marshall of Pine Bush High School with a $250 prize as our newest Homeroom Heroes inductee!

Kenneth Marshall

Kenny Marshall has played an instrumental role in growing Pine Bush's Technology and Engineering program while inspiring students to pursue careers in engineering and other technical fields. Known for his dedication both inside and outside the classroom, he creates opportunities for students to apply their skills, give back to the community, and take pride in their work. Despite the recognition, Marshall is quick to credit his colleagues, emphasizing that the program's success is the result of a collaborative team of educators who are committed to helping their students succeed every day.

About being nominated, Kenneth graciously and humbly states,

I’m grateful for the recognition, but the real reward is seeing students get excited about learning, discover career paths they never considered, and go on to do amazing things. Pine Bush has a great group of students and teachers, and I’m lucky to be a part of it. Watching students discover what they're capable of is the best part of teaching, and I'm proud to be part of a department that works together to create those opportunities.

Kenny was nominated by Lindsay Sudol, the parent of one of his longtime students, saying,

Kenny Marshall has been my son, Roscoe’s, tech teacher for 3 years. He inspires students in his class to learn about technology and engineering. He helped make the CAD and engineering courses what they are today. Pine Bush students are blessed to have this program and equipment in the school. It is one of the biggest public tech program in a high school in the state. My son is a senior this year and many of the colleges he applied to know about the engineering program at Pine Bush. Kenny Marshall had led the way to inspire his students including my son to go to college for engineering. He not only inspires kids in the classroom, but he also helps outside. My son completed his Eagle Scout project and Mr. Marshall donated a plaque for the project. Mr. Marshall also invites kids from the tech department on a horse drawn wagon every year for the Pine Bush tractor parade at Christmas. The wagon is decorated by the students. Kenny Marshall is deserving of this recognition because he truly is inspiring a generation.
