New York State Police have made an arrest in connection with a fraud case which began back last spring.

According to State Police the investigation began in March after troopers were called to the Chase Bank on Freedom Plains Road in Lagrange to investigate a fraud complaint. Bank Employees had reached out to police after a suspicious woman presented a fake ID and tried to withdraw $1,400 from an account. The woman fled when she heard employees trying to contact the actual account holder to verify the transaction.

After a lengthy investigation 41 year old Bronx resident Damaris Arocho was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Arocho has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
