A mansion originally built by the mayor of Hudson, NY in 1835 is on the market... and the completely updated home has to be seen to be believed.

The Hudson Valley is full of fascinating historic homes. From the mansion that was moved brick-by-brick to an entirely different location to the estate owned by two of the most famous names in New York, million-dollar listings seem to have a different type of pedigree in the Empire State. The same goes for the “Oliver Wiswall House" built on the Hudson River.

The Oliver Wiswall House in Hudson, NY

Born in 1780, Oliver Wiswall was the mayor of Hudson, NY for two years in 1827 and 1828. His home, which was lovingly described as "a solidly-constructed building, erected for use and domestic comfort rather than for show", sits proudly just feet from the Hudson River. That being said, take one look at the 4,800 square-foot home and it's immediately apparent how special the property is.
