Local Moms Question Once Upon A Child's Status

A few weeks back, I noticed that the local moms were posting a lot about a popular spot to buy and sell children's clothing and supplies in Dutchess County. People were questioning others in the area 'have you noticed Once Upon A Child hasn't been open during operating hours' or 'does anyone know what's going on with Once Upon A Child.'

This caught my attention because I currently have a pile of clothing in my spare bedroom that I was wanting to drop off to sell, but I guess that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Once Upon A Child Confirms Closure, Citing 'Current Store Conditions'

After a few social media posts about winter sales and closing the store or modifying hours due to weather conditions, Once Upon A Child finally provided some information about the status of the Wappingers Store.

Due to current store conditions, we will be closing our doors. Thank you for all your patronage and continued support through this time.

That message came out early Tuesday morning, and quickly received quite a few comments from customers asking about a closing date, additional information, what happens to store credit. By early afternoon, another post went up on their Facebook account:

Thank you all for your concerns. We are closing due to roofing issues. We will be closed until further notice. Please continue to refer to our Facebook page for any updates.

So, as of now it seems like the Wappingers Once Upon A Child location is closed until further notice, and the next closest location for those of us in the Hudson Valley is Danbury.

We will update this story as additional details become available.
