A bookstore in the Village of Wappingers Falls made a heartbreaking announcement earlier this week.

Page and Petals Welcomes Readers in Village of Wappingers Falls
In November 2024, a new business opened their doors in the Village of Wappingers Falls.
Page and Petals is a fiction-only bookstore owned and operated by Jackie LeVan. At the time LeVan told WPDH that when picking a location that she fell in love with the spot on Main Street in the Village.
Jackie and her team hosted many events with local authors, bringing in other local vendors like coffee carts and dirty soda pop-ups. They hosted monthly book clubs and became a hub for readers in Dutchess County.
Sadly, after 2 years of making reading cool again, Page and Petals is closing their doors.
Page and Petals Makes Difficult Decision To Close Wappingers Store Front
In a statement shared to the Page and Petals social media page they write "we have made a very difficult decision to close our store front in wappingers falls."
The statement goes on to say the decision came with "such a heavy heart" and that they will miss each and every one of their customers.
With that being said, Page and Petals will be "revamping" their website and will remain open online for "preorders, book & goodies orders with amazing inventory and options for our favorite people."
When Will Page and Petals Close?
Page and Petals last day will be May 24th, 2026.
All of their May events will go on as scheduled. They also tease some possible pop ups in the future and maybe another store front when the time is right.

On a personal note, Page and Petals was one of my favorite local businesses.
Jackie took the time to get to know her customers and created an amazing space for readers. I remember giving her a list of the books I enjoyed.
She went above and beyond to hand pick a few books that she thought I would like...she nailed it. I love western romances now...Thanks, Jackie!
