State Police arrested on man driving on the Thruway in the Hudson Valley with over $30,000 worth of marijuana in his car.

State Police from Cornwall pulled over a vehicle in the Cornwall area on the New York State Thruway for speeding. The driver of the vehicle, 59-year-old Clarence H. Wright, of Albany, was allegedly found to be in possession of over 7 pounds of marijuana, cannabis candy, multiple varieties of cannabis vapor cartridges, and a large sum of US Currency.

According to priceofweed.com, the street value of 7 pounds marijuana in New York is $30,000-$38,000.

Wright was transported and processed in Newburgh. He was charged with 2nd-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class D felony, unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and speeding, a traffic violation.

Wright was arraigned before the Town of Cornwall Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
