Local authorities have conducted a second major drug bust just six days after an FBI led investigation led to nine arrests. New York State Troopers and Newburgh police blocked off part of First Street today as they made a dozen arrests in just under two hours.

The Times Herald Record reports police were seen entering several residences and a local business. Cops were on the scene around 11:30 and had cleared out by around 1:30. Neighbors in the area were quoted as saying the area had taken a turn for the worse over the last few years, but these two busts were a good start.

The bust on June 1st was led by the FBI and the Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force. Those arrested during that bust stand accused of dealing crack in the city and face federal charges.

According to a press release, more details will be released at a press conference Wednesday at 11am. Members of law enforcement will be available for comment at the State Police barracks on Route 208 in Montgomery.
