Separate investigations in the Hudson Valley led to two arrests for allegedly selling heroin and other drugs in the local area.

On Wednesday around 10:15 p.m., members of URGENT arrested 43-year-old Antonio Aviles of Kingston following an investigation into heroin and cocaine sales in the Town of Saugerties, City of Kingston and surrounding areas.

Police conducted what they call an "intelligence-based traffic stop" on a car that allegedly travels from New York City to the Hudson Valley to traffic narcotics.

Aviles was found with 28 bags of heroin and 11.8 grams of cocaine, police say. He was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Three of the counts are felonies, the other a misdemeanor.

On Thursday, New York State Police, the City of Port Jervis Police Department, the Monticello Police Department, and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office conducted a search warrant at a home on Nappy Lane in Napanoch.

The search yielded a large amount of heroin, US currency, prescription pills, packaging material, scales and a cutting agent, police say.

Rasean K. Mack, 33, of Napanoch was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two felonies and two misdemeanors, tampering with physical evidence and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Both were remanded to the Ulster County Jail. Aviles with no bail and Mack on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
