Police say they saved a man's life from a drug overdose twice in under 24 hours. The next day, he was arrested for allegedly stealing from his mother.

On Thursday, officers from the Monroe Police Department responded to a reported heroin overdose. Responding officers found the victim unconscious with very shallow breathing. The officers administered Narcan to the victim and saved his life.

Less than 24 hours later, Monroe Police Officers received a call to the same address for a report of another heroin overdose. Officers found the same victim unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse. Officers administered Narcan and saved his life a second time.

Both times the victim was transported to the hospital by Monroe Ambulance.

On Saturday, police allege the same unnamed subject stole his mother's credit card and made a cash withdrawal of $200 from a bank. He also allegedly stole his mother’s necklace, which he sold.

The subject was located by the authorities and at the time of his arrest was allegedly in possession of 5 bags of heroin. The suspect was charged with 4th-degree grand larceny, 4th-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies, and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in the village of Monroe Court where he was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
