Potential Upcoming Hudson Valley Production Seeks Creators

The movie and television industry is slowly coming back online in the Hudson Valley. According to the Hudson Valley Film Commission, they've spent recent days fielding calls from producers on several different projects. There is still much to be determined however as new health and safety protocols will have to be in place.

The most immediate need is a search for people who make things with their own two hands, from farmers to sculptors and potters. If you or someone you know is a 'creator' you can send information to filmcommission@me.com, including contact information and a brief description of the skill.

Since the year 2000, the Hudson Valley Film Commission has advocated for the advancement of the movie and television industry in the Hudson Valley. According to their website, they've supported and/or worked on more than 500 productions creating a very real financial impact on the community. This has led to more than $250 million in regional economic activity.

When producers, actors, and support staff come to the area, they're staying in local hotel rooms and eating at local establishments. Highlights from 2019 include A Quiet Place 2, Billions (Showtime) and I Know This Much Is True (HBO).

The Film Commission is also on the lookout for facilities in the Hudson Valley that can house 50-80 people that can also accommodate staging and other production needs on-site. Anyone with a property that fits the bill can reach out to the email listed above, filmcommission@me.com.
