
Poughkeepsie Warrant & Raid Leads To One Drug Related Arrest
A narcotics investigation which included agent purchases of fentanyl and cocaine has resulted in the arrest of one New York man at a Poughkeepsie residence.

Dutchess County DA Drug Task Force Announces Arrest
An investigation was launched in the City of Poughkeepsie following suspicions of drug related activity and a suspected dealer in a particular area of the city. According to the press release from the Sheriff's Office, there were 'numerous community complaints about suspected drug activity at the same location,' which further supported the investigation.
During the investigation, there were multiple agent conducted purchases of drugs like fentanyl and cocaine from the alleged suspect, who was distributing narcotics from the City of Poughkeepsie residence. The investigation and subsequent purchases resulted in the search warrant being issued.
Reports indicate that agents of the Drug Task Force, with support from the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit (SWAT) and the Poughkeepsie Police SWAT Team executed the warrant on September 11th.
It was reported that the suspect tried to flee through a window during the execution of the warrant, 'but was apprehended without incident by tactical officers.'
Police Identify Queens Man in Poughkeepsie Arrest
The Sheriff's Office has identified 41-year-old Derrick Ensley, of Queens, as the individual that was allegedly distributing narcotics from the Poughkeepsie residence just off North Bridge Street, and shared the findings of the warrant:
The search resulted in the seizure of large quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, drug packaging materials, U.S. currency, digital scales, and other items associated with the sale and distribution of narcotics.
Ensley was remanded to Dutchess County Jail with no bail after being charged with Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree with intent to sell, a class B Felony.
In addition to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Patrol and Detective Bureaus, the investigation and subsequent arrest was a result of collaborative efforts from several area agencies including the City and Town of Poughkeepsie Police Departments, City of Beacon Police Department, Town of Hyde Park Police Department, Town of East Fishkill Police Department, Town of Fishkill Police Department, and the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit.
