According to Hudson Valley News Network landline phone users in the 845 area code cannot connect with Dutchess County 911 dispatch or City of Poughkeepsie 911.

Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response was made aware of the issue by Verizon late this afternoon who says the issue impacts all landline phones, regardless of the phone service provider.

How to report an Emergency in Dutchess County:

To connect with the Dutchess County E-9-1-1 Center, dial the 7 digit emergency phone number (845) 471-1414.

To report an Emergency in the City of Poughkeepsie, dial (845) 451-4000 to connect with the City of Poughkeepsie 9-1-1 dispatch center.

Verizon is investigating the outage which plagued three counties in the Hudson Valley. As of 6pm the company restored service to Putnam and Westchester counties. There is no estimated time of restoration for Dutchess County. Check back with Hudson Valley News Network for the latest information.
