They're here.

Over the weekend and throughout the week Hurricane Harvey has wreaked havoc in Texas. And it doesn't look like it will let up anytime soon. Consistent rain and flooding has forced families to evacuate and leave their homes and sadly has taken 30 lives according to the New York Times.

Recently we have seen reports from news outlets, like Good Morning America, about abandoned animals-from horses to dogs- and shelters having to move their adoptable pets to higher land.

On Monday it was reported that there were several dogs heading to the Hudson Valley.

19 Houston pups are now safe with the folks at Pets Alive in Middletown, while a handful of other dogs will be sheltered at the Hudson Valley SPCA, Humane Society of Walden and Suruluna Animal Rescue.

The dogs made it safely out of Texas and were welcomed to the Hudson Valley with a big crowd:

If you would like to make donations or help out the animal shelters you can visit the Pets Alive website. If you don't have the money to donate right now, you can volunteer at the organization.
