It looks like my friend Mr. Flashy is officially out of a job as the work has finally wrapped up on the bridge replacement on Route 199 and 308 in the town of Milan.

The bridge was originally scheduled to closed back in April but encountered several weeks of delays which pushed the start of the project back to May. Now despite those hefty delays the over three month project has come to an end, wrapping up last week just in time for the chaos of the Dutchess County Fair.

Although I am very happy the bridge is now in tip top shape and I am safe traveling over it I have to say that detour was a pain in the hinny, not only for commuters but for the traveling public in general. I think I can speak for millions (ok maybe i'm exaggerating) when I say I'll miss Mr Flashy but I hope we don't meet again!
