Monumental Saks Fifth Avenue Executive Died in the Hudson Valley
This fashion legend spent a lot of time in the Hudson Valley and her legacy will continue.
Saks Fifth Avenue is one of those stores that's pretty much known by everyone. It's always been a place that people strive to shop at and there's just something so classy about saying you shop at Saks. Many who people travel to New York City have Saks Fifth Avenue on their list of places to visit and go check it out just so they can say they step foot into the store.
Sadly, one resident in the Hudson Valley passed away and she had some HUGE connections to the store.
Who was the Saks Fifth Avenue who was living in the Hudson Valley?
Her name is Lindy Strom Wright and she sadly passed away on April 21,2024. Lindy has left behind an incredible legacy and she made history at Saks Fifth Avenue during her career in the fashion industry.
In her obituary, Lindy is described as, "a powerhouse, a beacon of positivity and an unwavering work ethic". She lived in Bristol Tennessee, moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in retail and eventually landed right here in Rhinebeck, New York.
One of the most fascinating things about Lindy is that she was the first female executive Saks Fifth Avenue and I can't imagine that was easy. She help start an amazing path for women in business and the fashion industry She eventually retired from there and launched a second career with her husband. She was also passionate about raising money and fundraising for non-profits like the Atlanta Pet Rescue.

When Lindy came to Rhinebeck she help with fundraising for Sinterklaas, the Love It or Swap It annual fundraiser and she spent time helping at People's Place in Kingston. She truly did make a huge impact here in the Hudson Valley.
She was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother to add to her list of accomplishments.
