Schools across the Hudson Valley have closed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but educational company Scholastic has announced a new free learn at-home program for children.

The online resource caters to kids from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade and up. The program covers all the subjects your student would be taking at school. There are currently five days of material on the site with an additional 15 days of content on the way. Each course provides around three hours of learning each day including writing and research projects. Virtual field trips and geography challenges are also part of the course load.

'As more and more teachers, students and families around the world are affected by the coronavirus, our priority is to support them in the best way we know how-by providing them with rich stories and meaningful projects that will keep kids academically active,' according to Lauren Tarshis, Senior V.P. & Editor-in-Cheif Scholastic Classroom Magazines.

The website is available via any device that has the internet and will remain free until further notice.
