Second Hudson Valley Carl’s Jr. Location Suddenly Closes Down

Is this the beginning of the end for Carl's Jr. in the Hudson Valley?

In August of last year all of the Hudson Valley Hardee's locations were converted into Carl's Jr restaurants. The two fast food brands are owned by the same company and share many of the same menu items. Despite the similarities, the business decided to rebrand Hardee's in the Hudson Valley as Carl's Jr. in an effort to boost sales.

Unfortunately, it looks like the plan has not worked.

Last month the Carl's Jr. on Ulster Avenue in Kingston shut down without notice. Now, another Hudson Valley location has closed their doors for good.

Customers were shocked to find out that the Carl's Jr. on Route 211 in Middletown had closed this week with no warning. The signs have already been removed from the building and the doors are locked. A paper sign hangs in the window telling customers the restaurant is now closed.

The only Carl's Jr. location left in the Hudson Valley is now on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. But many are wondering just how long that restaurant will remain open. With two out of three locations closing within a month of each other it doesn't sound like the chain is doing very well in the Hudson Valley.

Aside from three locations in Manhattan, there are no other Carl's Jr. restaurants anywhere in the Northeast outside of Poughkeepsie.
