Here’s How You Can Shop For Free In The Hudson Valley
Keyword free, but beyond that, we're sharing information about a great opportunity to reduce excess, give back to the community, and get your hands on items you may need at the same time.

Shop Cycle: What Is It
A free community swap event, Shop Cycle was 'born from the desire to promote reuse' while also creating an outlet for items that can be given another life. The idea of a swap reduces waste excess, contributions to landfills, and of course gives your well-loved items a chance to be well-loved by someone else in the community.
On the official Shop Cycle 'Shopping Spree For Free' website, organizers indicated that during their last swap event, more than 1,000 pounds of items were collected that included clothing and housewares. Those items leftover after the swap were donated to collection programs that then give back to the local community.

What Types Of Items Can Be Swapped?
Items that CAN be donated for swapping include those that are portable (easy to carry), clean and reusable, can be missing pieces, but ONLY if that missing piece does not impact the operation of the item in any way.
Things that are NOT permitted for donation are those that are too large or heavy to be considered portable, anything ripped, torn, stained or not clean, no underwear. The swap cannot accept anything broken or not in working condition, and no knives or sharp objects, hazardous materials or anything flammable. Nothing that has been recalled, all electronics, no strollers, infant car seats. No open or expired foods, unsealed personal care products, or medicines can be donated.
