One Sullivan County resident noticed something pretty crazy on their Ring camera.

It seems like the bear population is increasing  a lot or they are just getting much more comfortable getting closer to people. Personally, I have not seen a bear around here (thank god, knock on wood), but many Hudson Valley residents have over the past few years.

Sullivan County is a beautiful part of the Hudson Valley and it seems like lately there have been a ton of bear sightings. So no surprise here, there was another bear sighting that was recently caught on someone's Ring camera.

Where was a bear recently spotted in the Sullivan County?

It looks bea-ry big.

One resident in Wurtsboro recently posted the video to a local Facebook Group and you can see the bear strolling along. I reached out to the resident named Kevin and he said,

"He has been living in his house since 2020. They have been spotted all over the area before. Just the first time I have seen one on the security camera in my yard".

I always have to say this: PLEASE DO NOT HARM ANY ANIMALS IN THE HUDSON VALLEY.

What are you supposed to do if you see a bear?

In this case, stay inside and make sure all your animals are inside as well. Here are some other "beary" important safety tips:

  • Never feed or approach bears
  • Secure your food, garbage and recycling
  • Be mindful of bird feeders
  • Never leave pet food outdoors
  • Clean and store grills and smokers
  • Alert neighbors of bear activity
