Grimace Mania has officially given way to the "Summer of Grimace", and honestly, what better way to honor our fuzzy, purple good luck charm than with a commemorative seat at Citi Field?

Sure, Fenway Park has the legendary Ted Williams red seat, but even though I’m a die-hard Red Sox fan, I’ve never really believed Ted hit a ball 502 feet — and neither does David Ortiz. Ted was great, but let’s be real, that’s a stretch. Grimace securing wins for the Mets, though? Now THAT I believe.

When Grimace waddled out onto the field on June 12 to throw the first pitch, everything about it was hilarious and heartwarming

. The glove was on backwards, his furry purple arms could barely throw the ball, but something magical happened after that pitch — the Mets went on a seven-game winning streak.

Since that date, they’ve had the best record in baseball. Coincidence? I think not.

Now, the Mets have paid tribute to their unofficial mascot by giving him his very own purple seat in section 302, row 6, seat 12 — a nod to the 6/12 date that started it all. On fan appreciation night, the chair was unveiled in the Shannon Forde press room, with Grimace himself on hand to soak up the cheers and pose with fans.

As the Mets fight for a playoff spot, the purple magic of Grimace remains. Want to tap into it? You can buy a seat in the Grimace section for the remaining home games. One thing’s for sure: Grimace brought the wins, and that’s a story I’m sticking to.

An Inside Look at a NY Yankees Suite Experience

I've been lucky enough to experience many views at Yankee stadium, field level, the bleachers, my old season ticket spot in section 234, even the upper deck has great views, but nothing will ever compare to a luxury suite.
