Hudson Valley Police Thank ‘Santa’ for Surprise Gift
Thanksgiving still may be days away, but there's plenty of Hudson Valley residents already getting into the holiday spirit, including one local family who surprised a local police department in one of the most generous ways.
The end of the year is supposed to be a time for gatherings and joy, but the unfortunate reality is that not everyone is in a position to celebrate. "Santa Claus" Arrives Early to the Ossining Police Department
"In the spirit of the holidays, a local family just pulled a Santa-level move on us, minus the red suits and reindeer. They donated a whopping $1,000 in gift cards for us to give out to folks who need a little extra help", the post began (below). Of course, they also couldn't resist adding some of their trademark humor.
Ossining Police Department Report Anonymous Community Gift
The OPD shared that a family - who wished to remain nameless - stopped by the station to drop off twenty $50 VISA gift cards for officers to distribute in their community. "We tried to give our new heroes a round of applause, maybe a parade, but their only condition was that they remain anonymous", they wrote.

Speaking of money, there's another way to get in the holiday spirit, and it all has to do with decorations. Submit a photo of your light display to WRRV's Light Up the Hudson Valley contest for a chance at $500... the winner can spend the cash however they'd like.
