Should There Be Age Requirements to Enter Fast Food Restaurants?
Back in May of 2025 a McDonalds in Virginia made a change to their dine-in service.
Men's Health reports that a McDonald's in Alexandria, Virginia, "banned dine-in service to customers under the age of 21."
Drive-thru and and mobile ordering would be available for them, and if guests 21 and older wanted to be let in they would have to ring a doorbell.
The reason for the new rule? According to a note from management it was "due to repeated incidents of student violence."
In the note management continued writing:
This decision was made to protect our staff, our guests, and our community.
The age restriction was supposed to be a temporarily fix, but we have yet to hear if they changed back to normal dine-in options for guests younger than 21.
What do you think? Should there be age restrictions at McDonald's and other fast food locations across the region? Let us know what you think!
