Everyone Thinks Tesla’s Cybertruck Looks Like the Car From ‘Total Recall’
Last night, the electric car wizards at Tesla unveiled their latest creation: The Tesla Cybertruck. The exterior is made out of the same stainless steel alloy as a SpaceX rocket; that supposedly makes it completely bulletproof. It has a bed in the back to store your Tesla ATV (you’ve got one of those right?), and it has a range of 250 miles on a single charge. All that and more for a starting price of $39,900.
And here’s what it looks like:
Yes, Tesla’s new car looks like something out of dystopian 1980s science-fiction. And many people think it looks exactly like the cars in Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 classic Total Recall.
They... may have a point:
Truly if you want to get your ass to Mars, the Tesla is the only brand that will do it.
According to CNN, there are many additional add-ons and models of the Cybertruck, with the cost of the “top end Tri Motor AWD version of the Cybertruck starting at $69,900.” Plus, for $7,000 “buyers will also be able to choose Tesla’s ‘self-driving’ option.” Here, now, is an exclusive first image of the Cybertruck’s automatic driver you won’t see anywhere else:
If Tesla’s strange design ideas inspire you, the original Total Recall is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Hulu. Just don’t watch the remake whatever you do.
