Every year they come back to the trees right outside my house. Some days on my side of the road, some days on the other and when I'm lucky, the other side of the train tracks. It seems this year the Birds of Poughkeepsie, as I call them...maybe I should start #birdsofpoughkeepsie...are creeping closer to the tree above my front door. Now, I'm not normally worried about birds, but in this case they number in the thousands and it's damn frightening. I hate to say it but sometimes when I hear a few of them moving I assume they're starting to swarm and I just about run to my car. If you live in Poughkeepsie or frequent the area by the train station, you know what I'm talking about. I've been told to scare them and throw things at them but I don't want to piss them off, they have great memories (it's true, here is the article) and they know where I live.
