That Time Blink-182 Came To Our Birthday Party
This summer has been an absolute whirlwind when it comes to shows. Massive stadium and arena tours from some of the biggest names in alternative rock, intimate shows at Newburgh Brewing Company for WRRV Sessions, and of course, in our very own backyard, the incredible lineup that Bethel Woods Center for the Arts had this year.
2025 brought with it many things, but towards the top of that list, at least for us anyway, was the 30th anniversary of this radio station.

WRRV Welcomes Blink-182 to Bethel Woods
I mentioned this on the air at least a dozen times over the past few months, when I heard the news that Blink-182 would be coming to Bethel Woods as it was whispered into my ear earlier this year, my eyes grew huge, my jaw hit the ground, and all I managed to say was how am I supposed to keep this quiet until we announce the show?
Those few months were pretty difficult for me to keep my mouth shut, I had a hard time anytime I played a Blink song on the air, but I did it, and before we knew it the news was public, one of the bands that helped to shape this radio station over the years would be in the area as part of our 30th festivities.

WRRV Celebrates 30 Years
WRRV was lucky enough to celebrate our 30th Anniversary (or birthday to some) at Bethel Woods this summer during a few massive shows. The weekend of August 1st and 2nd we welcomed The Offspring, Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory (Friday 8/1) and the next night, +LIVE+, Collective Soul and Our Lady Peace. We collected WRRV memorabilia from over the years, put it all on display, and reminisced about the past 30 years of this incredible radio station.
We premiered our limited edition 30th Anniversary t-shirts and spent time with listeners talking about all of the memories, the concerts and the fun we've had for three decades.
Blink-182 Sells Out Bethel Woods
That brings us to now, as many of us are still in Blink-182 hangover mode after a phenomenal Saturday spent at Bethel. After wild forecasts, torrential downpours, even tornado warnings, the night turned out pretty perfect, as a sold out crowd (more than 16,000) filled Bethel Woods to the gills for Blink-182.
Before Blink, Alkaline Trio and Beauty School Drop Out, our friends from The Strip band rocked the Horizon Stage (emerging artists).
Now i've been to a TON of Bethel shows over the years, even Ringo Starr, but I don't remember it being anything like it was for Blink on Saturday (I very well could be wrong, but this is just my perspective).
Once again we brought out the WRRV memorabilia, those t-shirts that everyone wanted to get their hands on, and caught up with so many friends and familiar faces from over the years, even some of your favorite former WRRV DJs were on site, and there in audio form sending well wishes that we've been airing on the radio.
From start to finish the night was unreal; the Blink-182 setlist was pretty perfect, the banter that Mark and Tom have on stage unmatched, and the energy in the amphitheater, lawn and beyond was something I have a hard time putting into words.
So Travis, Mark, Tom...thanks for coming to our 30th celebration, you made it a night we'll never, EVER, forget, and as we head into year 31, we...guess this is growing up...
