If you've ever found yourself looking for a drink but unwilling to leave your home, there's an app that has your back. There are myriad reasons why you might not have any booze at your house. And there are as many reasons why you might not want to or be able to drive to the store to get some. Fear not: in order to prevent you from suffering this fate, an app called Saucey is here to save the day.

Here's how it works: before 11PM on weekdays or 2AM on weekends, you can order your booze via the app and in 10-15 minutes, an independent driver wielding your beverage of choice will be at your door with a smile. Well, maybe he won't have a smile (I can't vouch for the customer service of their drivers!), but he will have your booze. And that's as good as a smile.

It's currently located only in California, where they service Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco, but they have plans on moving into 20 additional markets soon. Says a rep from the company:

"Alcohol is an old and fragmented industry," says Chris Vaughn, CEO of the Los-Angeles based start-up. "It is untouched by tech. That's where we come in."

The 10-person company "wants to own" the Golden State before it expands nationally and, eventually, internationally, Vaughn says.

He may be on to something: The company recently filled a $6,000 bar bill, its biggest yet.

Yeah, I'll take a case of Newburgh Cream Ale please. Thanks.
