Throw Back Thursday: Smashing Pumpkins – The End is the Beginning is the End

Oh man. What a weird history with this song.

Originally released on the Batman and Robin soundtrack in 1997, it hit #4 on the US Alternative music charts and eventually went Gold in Australia, I'll be honest; it was never my favorite. It wasn't bad though.

HOWEVER.

That movie was terrible. It still gets awful reviews on the internet.

Along comes the Watchmen movie and the inevitable trailer for it. An alternate version of the song is featured on that trailer, and was SO perfect and dark and brooding and awesome that the song broke the top 100 on iTunes during the summer of 2008, and was the best part of that movie.

The Watchmen was an ok movie, but the graphic novel was way better.

So! Quick question. Movies aside, which was the better version? Batman and Robin or Watchmen?
