I shared last week in this article how i've yet to experience three major/typical New York bucket list items. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (in person), attending the Rockefeller tree lighting (instead of watching it from my couch), and experiencing New Year's Eve in Times Square (which feels very overwhelming to me).

There is a way, however, to be part of the New Year's Eve in New York City celebrations without actually being in the hustle and bustle of the city, here's how.

Write A Wish For Times Square NYE Confetti

Even if you haven't experienced NYE in NYC in person, chances are you've watched the coverage at least once. Millions fill the streets, live music performances and all sorts of celebrity appearances, and at the stroke of midnight, with the newly blinged out ball drops upon Times Square, something like 3,000 pounds of confetti falls into the streets of NY. Well, you can actually get your wish for the new year on one of those pieces of confetti.

The Times Square 'Wishing Wall' is located in NYC on Broadway Plaza between 46th and 47th (Duffy Square), and if you're planning to visit the city between now and December 29th (with the exception of 12/25, Christmas Day), you can visit the wall and write your wish for 2026 on a piece of confetti there. The Wishing Wall is open from 11am until 8pm.

If you don't have plans to be in NYC between now and December 29th, that's ok too, you can actually submit your wish virtually, through the official New Year's Eve Wishing Wall website.

So, if you're like me and want to be part of the NYE in NYC celebrations but from the comfort of the Hudson Valley, this is your chance - here's to ALL of your wishes coming true in 2026!
