Town of Chester Police Officers Get in On ‘First Day’ Fun
Children across the Hudson Valley and much of the United States packed their backpacks and lunch boxes and embarked on another school year.
And of course, many of the parents of school-aged children had some fun on the first day of school. Kids were sent off to school in their shiny new sneakers and new fancy outfits but not before pictures were taken.
You know exactly what I'm talking about. Those adorable Back-To-School photos that come with a little sign that details the student's hopes and dreams, what grade they're in, and some of their favorite things.
For example, I borrowed a sign from a friend who has kids to fill out for my adult self:
Of course, the kids one is cuter and has nothing to do with booze or music. With that being said, a local Hudson Valley police department got in on the First Day fun!
Town of Chester Police Department Heads Back to School?
Police Officers from The Town of Chester Police Department who also work as School Resource Officers headed back to school earlier this week. The Town of Chester Police Department wrote on Facebook:
Today was the first day of school for all three districts in the town (Chester, Monroe-Woodbury and Warwick Valley). Since everyone else seems to be sharing their "First Day of School" photos, we didn't want to be left out! Here are some pics of our School Resource Officers who are assigned to the schools in the Chester Union Free School District.
They add that while the officers won't be taking classes now, Officer DeLuca and Officer Donato did take classes last month to become certified School Resources officers and are joining Officer Perez who has been an SRO for the last 5 years.
Take a look at some of the Back-to-School photoshoot fun the Town of Chester Police Department had on social media below:

This photoshoot kind of reminds us of the Town of Ulster Police Department which recently went viral, locally, for their Night Shift photo shoot.
Did you take Back-to-School photos with your kids this year? Did they have fun or were they stubborn?
