With the popularity of internet swap sites, Facebook Marketplace sales, garage and yard sales are quickly becoming a thing of the past.  With online sales and swaps happening daily, people have been coordinating meet-up locations across the Hudson Valley to complete internet exchanges and transactions.

I speak from personal experience when I tell you that the first time I actually sold something via a Facebook children's exchange group I went from super excited that I was making $12 for something my daughter was no longer using, to thinking about where I would meet this person and would it be safe.

I typically would meet people in high traffic, very public areas when buying/selling things from the internet, and would try to have someone accompany me or at least know where I was going to be, just in case.

Well, over the weekend the Town of Fishkill Police Departments announced via a Facebook post, that they would be offering a designated location for these type of transactions:

Town of Fishkill Police Department is pleased to provide residents with an Internet Exchange Location. The designated area is in the front of the police station and is clearly marked by the attached sign. For your safety, the location is under 24/7 video surveillance. We hope this offers sellers and buyers some peace of mind during your transactions.

This is an amazing service for those who engage in online/internet sales or exchanges, and should alleviate a lot of the concern associated with these types of transactions.  Well done FPD!
