Two men were airlifted to the hospital after their beverage delivery van crashed and overturned in Putnam County.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the two men, the driver and passenger, were driving north on Route 9D in Garrison Tuesday afternoon when their beverage delivery van crossed over the southbound land, ran off the road, hit a tree, and overturned.

The crash, which happened around 1:20 p.m., was about one mile south of Route 403, near the property of the Capuchin Youth & Family Ministries.

Sheriff’s deputies, the Garrison Ambulance Corps and the Philipstown Ambulance Corps were dispatched to the scene. First responders then called for helicopters from LifeNetAir2 and New Jersey-Hackensack Helicopter Service to transport the victims to the hospital.

The helicopters flew the victims to Westchester Medical Center. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, officials say.

Route 9D was closed in both directions for about three hours as authorities aided the victims, investigated the crash and cleared the overturned van.

No tickets were issued and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
