Check Out This Unique Weekend Job in Middletown New York
With the holiday season approaching and prices not heading lower anytime soon, you may be thinking about a second job or maybe a new one altogether. On Friday, I was looking through social media, and I came across what I thought was the most unique Hudson Valley job, and I just had to share.
Make Extra Cash Being A Carriage Footman
Let me start by saying that there is a company in Middletown, New York, that does horse-drawn carriage rides for special events. Celtic Valley Carriage offers what they call a fine boutique carriage service. They apparently are heading into their busy season and are looking for help.
The busy times are now through December, and they are looking for what they call a Weekend Footman, so that means you most likely want to keep what we all call our day job and grab this as a side hustle. Celtic Valley Carriage is looking for an extra set of hands on the weekends.
Calling All Horse Lovers Who Need A Weekend Job
You may be asking What does a footman do? Luckily, it is spelled out for us in the Facebook post announcing the job opportunity.
What the footman does:• Dress in carriage attire and help bring a touch of tradition to the experience (adjusting for weather of course!)• Assist passengers in and out of the carriage• Offer blankets to keep riders cozy• Collect payments from customers• Head or hold horses if needed• Be that extra set of hands in case of equipment or horse emergencies (rare, but important! An essential part of our professional integrity) (Celtic Valley Carriage & Farm via Facebook)
