As we head full steam ahead into the holiday season, why not consider giving back to the local community and contributing some volunteer hours to an organization that is looking for help.

Guardian Angel Cat Rescue is currently looking for volunteers to help feed feral colonies in the city of Poughkeepsie and throughout Dutchess County.  Reach out through their facebook page to find out more about volunteering.

Founded in 2009, Guardian Angel Cat Rescue, based out of Poughkeepsie, is an organization that's mission is to

reduce the feline population one cat at a time by educating the community about the importance of spaying/neutering their pets and strays and through the humane methods of trap/neuter/release.

If you aren't able to commit volunteer time to feed one of the feral colonies, why not consider other ways to contribute to the organization.  Click here for more information about donations and other ways to get involved.  Other opportunities include wish-list and food donations, drives for products and supplies, and so on.

Volunteering with feral cat communities is something I got involved with many years ago as an assignment for a graduate school project and ended up sticking with for quite some time.  Always a need for good people to do good work for the local cat population.
